Duties include:
• Assisting with personal hygiene-showering/bathing
• Supporting and accompanying social interaction in the community
• Preparing meals
• Household support
• Companionship
Never worked in social care ?
Anyone can apply for a job as a carer, whether you have previous experience or not and medical experience is not required. The most important qualities you should have are:
• Genuine desire to care for others and be compassionate and flexible
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work as part of a team and support one another
• Have a calm and polite nature to help assist vulnerable individuals
• Honest and reliable nature while able to manage own time and tasks effectively
You must have the right to work within the UK and are at a minimum 18 years old.
You must pass an enhanced DBS check to be considered for employment.
